Gau Seva Ayog

Under the Jharkhand Gau Sewa Ayog Act, 2005 (Jharkhand Act, 02, 2006), the Jharkhand Gau Sewa Ayog was formed on January 07, 2006 for the welfare and protection of cattle in the state.

Ensuring the protection given to cattle under relevant law for conservation being in force, including the seizure, custody of animals taken for slaughter, or likely to be taken for slaughter and criminal proceedings against the accused.

To ensure active participation of institutions for the work of preservation of germplasm of the Indigenous/ Local Cattle breeds.

Promoting health care of Cattle. To ensure the care and management of Cattle seized for violation of relevant act in force for the time being. Supervision and inspection of institutions engaged in the work of welfare of cattle. To provide financial assistance to the institutions engaged in the work of welfare of cattle. To perform such other functions as may be assigned by the State Government from time to time.
